Mildred Willemssen Mildred Willemssen, age 95 of Westbrook passed away Friday, June
26 at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment is in the Westbrook Cemetery. The Westbrook Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent at www.westbrookfuneral.com Mildred was born October 30, 1913 in Sheldon, Iowa to Herman and Susie Schroeder. She attended and graduated high school in Boyden, Iowa. On January 22, 1937 Mildred was united in marriage to Richard Willemssen. Together the couple moved to the Westbrook area in 1957 and farmed until they moved into Westbrook in the early 1970’s. Mildred has resided in the same house since. She enjoyed working on the farm and visiting with friends and family. Mildred is survived by her children: Colleen (Tom) Odenbrett of Vermillion, SD and Merle (Rosemary) Willemssen of Dundee; grandchildren: Mark Willemssen and Shelly (Dave) Brunick; great grandchildren: Travis Kirpach, Ashley, Ryan and Michael Brunick, Madeline and Elizabeth Willemssen; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard on June 2, 2009; grandsons: Paul and Matthew, Timmy and Christopher; and one sister Evelyn “Sis” DeGroot. |
