Huldrich Bernard Nibbe
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Thursday with a prayer service held at 7:30 p.m. at the Westbrook
Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services
at the church on Friday. Interment is in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery
in Rosehill Township.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on
Friday May 30th, 2008 at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook.
Huldrich Bernard Nibbe, age 99 of Westbrook passed
away on Monday, May 26, 2008 at Westbrook Good Samaritan Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday May 30th,
2008 at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Visitation will be 5:00
p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service held at 7:30
p.m. at the Westbrook Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one
hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Interment is in
the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Rosehill Township. Email condolences

Huldrich B. Nibbe was born on September 15, 1908 to Reinhardt and
Anna (Mueller) Nibbe in Ornsby, Watonwan County, Minnesota. He was
baptized in infancy on October 2nd, 1908. Huldrich was confirmed
by Rev. Ernst C. Mueller on April 9th, 1922 at Freedom Lutheran
Church in Waseca, Minnesota. He attended public school in Watonwan
County, Ornsby District. After his father’s death, Huldrich
worked on various farm places. He worked 3 years for William Watterman
on a dairy farm near Sanborn, Minnesota. From there, Huldrich went
to work road construction for 2 years. On March 30th, 1932, Huldrich
Nibbe and Isabel Engler were united in marriage at the Emmanuel
Lutheran Church in Rosehill Township, by Pastor A.W. Scharfe. The
couple made their home on Isabel’s grandparents’ farm
for 50 years. In April 1982 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary
and then moved into Westbrook in November 1982. Huldrich and Isabel
most recently celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary in March
of 2008. Huldrich was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Rosehill
Township, and then a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook.
Huldrich is survived by his wife Isabel; brother-in-law Clarence
(Verna) Engler, sister-in-law Marie Nibbe; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers and sisters:
Ewald, Reinhardt, Gordnie, Cecelia, Anna, and Rosina.
