David Ness
, age 64 of Redwood Falls passed away unexpectedly on Saturday May 31, 2008 at Fairview University Hospital, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4:00 –7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Redwood Valley Home and will continue one hour prior to services on Thursday. Interment will be held at a later date in Fort Snelling Cemetery. David Ness was born on May 28, 1944 to Myron and Geneva (Gluesen) Ness in Red Wing, Minnesota. He graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1963 and attended Mankato State University where he wrestled. David was united in marriage to Shari Davis in 1973 in Morton, MN. To this union two sons were born. David entered the United States Air Force on February 18, 1964. Following basic training he was stationed at Charleston Air Force Base in Charleston, SC. He was transferred to Vietnam on October 19, 1966 where he served for one year. David was honorably discharged on October 16, 1967 and returned to Redwood Falls where he worked with the family business, Ness Tire Company. He most recently worked in trucking.

David was a lifetime member of the VFW and was a member of the Redwood Valley Riders Saddle Club for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseback riding, and traveling. David also enjoyed reading about history and watching television history specials.

David is survived by his sons: Christopher (Kimberly) Ness of Lewisville, TX and Jared Ness of Redwood Falls; granddaughter Addison; brother Vince (Diane) Ness of Redwood Falls and sister Bonita (Rodney) Leopold of rural Redwood Falls; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
