Donald M. Jahn
Donald M. Jahn, age 71 of Redwood Falls passed away peacefully,
surrounded by his family at his daughter’s home in Cedar Mills
on Wednesday, October 21, 2009.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m.
Friday, October 23, 2009 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church
in Redwood Falls.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday
at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service.
Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services at the church
on Friday. Interment is in St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery in Springfield.

Donald Jahn was born February 12, 1938 in Springfield, Minnesota
to Marvin and Gertrude (Schenk) Jahn. Donald served in the Army
Reserve from 1957-1962. He was united in marriage to Darlene Wenisch
on May 25, 1963 at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield. Together
the couple settled in Redwood Falls in 1974 where they have resided
since. Donald worked in coffee sales, spent several years with the
Happy Chef, and most recently worked for Kohls-Weelborg Ford in
Redwood Falls. Donald was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He
had a fascination with eagles, and collected anything with an eagle
on it. Family was very important to Donald, and he was very proud
of them.
Donald is survived by his children: Dawn (Doug) Benage of Cedar
Mills-Hutchinson, Darla (Wade) Coonrod of Eden Prairie, David (Beth)
Jahn of Hutchinson, and Danette (John) Johnson of Waconia; 5 grandchildren:
Tasha, Devan, Dalton, Dillynn, and Emily; stepdad Sam Vanderwerf
of Springfield; siblings: Barb (Lou) Fonken of Rochester, Bruce
(Patti) Jahn of Cloquet, Garry Jahn of VA. He was preceded in death
by his parents; and his wife Darlene on September 1, 2009.
