Shirley M. Hoffbeck

Shirley M. Hoffbeck, age 76 of Redwood Falls passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Season’s Hospice House in Redwood Falls.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.

Visitation will be starting at 1:30 p.m. and will continue until the time of the service at the church. Interment is in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Season’s Hospice House, 400 Veda Dr., Redwood Falls, MN 56283. Online condolences may be sent at www.redwoodvalleyfuneralhome.com. She was born Shirley May Kirschstein in rural Redwood Falls, Renville County, on October 19, 1932 to Gladys and Henry Kirschstein. She lived with her twin brother Wallace, and older sister, Delores in Sleepy Eye and Wabasso. Shirley attended high school in Wabasso and Springfield.

Shirley married Earl Hoffbeck on September 30, 1951. Her first priority was her family, working as a helpmate with her husband side by side on their farm near Redwood Falls. She provided a loving home and served as an example for her five children. Shirley was an avid gardener, tending her rose garden with love; she enjoyed the outdoors, birding, and walking. She was active in the church and community, as a member of the church choir and contributing her cooking talents in the church kitchen.

Shirley May Hoffbeck died at the age of 76 in Redwood Falls, MN on June 30th, 2009. Her husband and children were by her side as she took the hand of Jesus to her eternal rest in Heaven. The loss of Shirley will be felt deeply by family and friends who mourn her passing. She captivated the hearts of all with her gentle nature, compassionate heart, and loving disposition. Words cannot express how deeply she is loved and how much she will be missed by her family and friends. Lift up your hearts and share the joy as God welcomes her into Heaven.

She is survived by her husband, Earl N. Hoffbeck, and children, Deborah of Chapel Hill, NC; Patricia of Maple Grove, MN; Randall and his wife Leanne of Alexandria, MN; Rodney and his wife LuAnn of Morgan, MN; and Valerie and her husband Todd Nelson of Minneapolis, MN; and two granddaughters: Deborah’s daughter Alisha Jones of Salem, VA; and Rodney and LuAnne’s daughter, Krista.
